Upskilling Program
for emergency and critical care nurses
For upskilling emergency and critical care healthcare workers
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced hospitals to expand capacity, re-train staff for new roles, and invite retired healthcare workers to return to duty. It has also highlighted a need for additional infection control education especially for workers in long-term care facilities. By providing learners with both airborne and droplet infection control training, we are preparing them for when another pandemic (or second wave of this pandemic) strikes.
Under the Upskilling program, to meet the upskilling requirements of frontline healthcare workers, we have developed the following nine (9) modules:
Each upskilling module contains a virtual simulation case that address infection control and other COVID-19-specific education for upskilling urban and rural emergency and critical care nurses, or training current and new healthcare workers.
